I love doing interviews and podcasts. I’ve been public speaking for over two decades now. (I also completed my Toastmasters Competent Communicator certification.) Over the past couple of years, I’ve spoken on over a hundred podcasts, webinars, and conferences. My books have been translated into several languages and my work has been covered loads of times in the media, including Forbes magazine, The Guardian newspaper, and The Wall Street Journal.
I am a cognitive-behavioural psychotherapist, and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH). I’ve published six books on philosophy and psychotherapy, including Stoicism and the Art of Happiness and the bestselling How to Think Like a Roman Emperor. My graphic novel, Verissimus: The Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius, is due for publication around Autumn 2021 by St. Martin’s Press, and I’m working on a new biography of Marcus Aurelius for the Ancient Lives series of Yale University Press.
Great podcast!! I definitely will listen to this again. I cannot wait to get the book tomorrow. Thank you High Existence for another great podcast!– Listener Comment
I talk about a range of topics but my specialism is the relationship between ancient philosophy and modern psychology, especially Stoicism and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). What makes me unique is my ability to draw on a wealth of memorable stories from ancient literature in order to explain modern research in psychology. I am a passionate storyteller, weaving together tales from my own life experience, clinical practice, and classical philosophy to entertain and educate listeners.
